To whom it may concern:

My real-world name is Michael C Wendl and I have anon-edited Wikipedia on-and-off for many years on many different types of articles, so I'm familiar with its procedures and culture, both the good and the bad. I'm creating this account because I plan to edit more consistently, mainly in the area of German-American history and its larger relationship to the histories of St. Louis and the Midwestern United States. In point of disclosure, I also maintain an account called "German American Historian" on Wikimedia Commons that I use strictly for image uploads. I see this image collection growing in a way that it will eventually be able to support the visual dimension of my Wikipedia contributions.

Though I'm mainly interested in German-American history here at Wikipedia, I have also edited across several technical areas in the past. Specifically, I consider myself to have authoritative editing abilities in the following topics by virtue of having published original, refereed research in each of them:

I expect I will still add information to these areas from time-to-time, too. I hope that my edits prove to be useful additions to Wikipedia.

Best,

Mike
