I am a young person living in Cardiff who regularly attends arts events across the city.

Background

edit

I have a very musical background. For the past ten years I have been playing the alto saxophone which is a instrument that I love. I have also developed a good bass singing voice. I am currently singing in a community choir in the Ely area of Cardiff as well a choir project with the WNO at the Wales Millennium Centre in the bay.

I have performed in a number of productions in Cardiff. Most recently I played Eyelid and helped film "Space Invasion" at the New Theatre last summer. I have also been involved with "Pirates" at the New Theatre in 2004 and "The Wind in the Willows" back in 2002. I used to be part of the Sherman Youth Theatre.

I reguarly write reviews of the theatre, gigs and plays that I see. These are regularly posted on the web, particularly in the forum section of Theatre in Wales.

Work

edit

I work at St David's Hall Cardiff as a front of house steard. I also do a lot of charity work with various organisations. I present a radio show on Hospital Radio Glamorgan which is based at Heath Hospital in Cardiff. I also work for Oxfam as a volunteer and organsie gigs for Oxjam. Find out more about Oxjam Cardiff Chill

I will be volunteering in local schools over the forthcoming year with Cafod

Ambitions

edit

In the past I have undertaken a work experience with the Western Mail. Later this year, I will be undertaking another placement at Buzz! magazine. I hope to write a musical within the next year. My favourite musical is Willy Russell's Blood Brothers and so mine would probably be of a similar style.

I am helping to organise a few gigs for Oxjam. Last year I successfully managed to hold a number of gigs in the city of Cardiff. This October I'll be back and trying to make them even better!
