History

edit

Javelin is a Brooklyn-based, electronic music duo made up of the cousins Tom van Buskirk and George Langford.[1] Javelin started making music around 2004. Their music is particularly notable for it's use of eccentric and obscure samples, pulled from all mediums of music, which the band re-appropriates into their songs in fun and interesting ways.[2][3][4] After completing two projects for Thrill Jockey Records, Javelin released their first full-length album, No Mas, on Luaka Bop in April of 2010.[5] Javelin often perform with stacks of old boom boxes on stage which they sometimes incorporate into the acoustics of their show.[6]
