Originally from Donegal a graduate of the University of Ulster, Dublin Institute of Technology and Aberystwyth University (BA, MA, HDip Library & Information Studies) with supplementary qualifications from Dublin Business School (Dip Web design), Maynooth University (Cert in leadership for equality) and Clarkson College, Omaha, NE, USA (Cert area studies; Business).

Professional Information edit

Library Resources Manager and Digital Knowledge Team Lead for the Health Service Executives National Health Library and Knowledge Service (NHLKS) since January 2019. Previously systems Librarian and manager of Lenus: the Irish research repository (Sept 2017 to Jan 2019). Information, Library and Web Manager for the Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF) from 2009 to 2017. Previous roles included Assistant Librarian; Systems at Dublin Business School. Experience includes management and strategic development of specialist health library and information services, research support, electronic resource management and web development. Areas of interest include; Open Research, digital literacy, multimedia integration in information services, podcasting.

Committee Member of the Academic and Special Libraries Section (ASL) of the Library Association of Ireland (LAI) since 2012. Served as Communications officer for the Academic & Special Libraries Section of the Library Association of Ireland (2014 to 2022)
