edit

Recoil is about just having fun, looking to just astound people with their music and try to make it somewhere with what they do as a band.

Description

edit

They do music with their musical instruments. Our goal with their music is to combine the elements of all different types of music that people like listening to and make music everybody can enjoy.

Biography

edit

In 2008, Brandon and Lucas signed up for Rhythm Fire School of Music and Performance which was just getting started at that time. The basic idea of Rhythm Fire was to practice a bunch of cover songs and play them at a small gig every couple of months. Sometime in 2008-2009, Keaton joined rhythm fire along with a Guitarist/Singer named Maleah and a Drummer named Griffin and the 5 of us formed the band "Even Stars Break". There were some differences in the ideas of music styles and other choices so Maleah and Griffin left Rhythm Fire in 2009. As they were leaving, Alex joined Rhythm Fire. The name Recoil was thought up by Lucas and Josh a few years before as a potential band name, even though none of them actually played instruments yet. At a Recoil concert in 2009, Josh brought up the name to Lucas, Keaton, Brandon, and Alex and Recoil was formed. After a succesful 2010 concert, Recoil decided to break away from Rhythm Fire and write their own music to become more independent. They started practicing every week in Alex's studio, which is full of all the necessary sound equipment and thensome. After putting together years of independent song parts and a bunch of new stuff made up on the spot, Recoil finally released Whip Ass Taco, their first demo tape with awful recording quality in early 2011 (none of us had prior recording experience) on Lucas' Computer. Keaton quit in May 2011 and the 3 others began a power trio while sort-of looking for a Rhythm Guitar Player/Singer, while Keaton was gone. Keaton joined again in June 2011. In that early 2011 period they played tons of concerts. In July 2011, they started making a recording studio in his garage, so they can make better recordings for cheap. With more songs being written every week, the future looks bright and shiny.
