My name is Lisa and I'm a senior at James Madison University (Harrisonburg, VA), majoring in history and minoring in environmental studies. My primary interests within the realm of history are U.S. environmental history, U.S. agricultural history, and the 19th century westward expansion.

I've moved from a Wikipedia user to a Wikipedia editor thanks to my fall 2011 semester class on crop plant geography. Our final project for this class is the creation of a Wikipedia page based on our interests within the field of agricultural geography and the extent to which (if any) the subject has already been covered by other articles. Expanding upon my interests in agricultural history, Native American history, and Virginia history, I've settled on an article about pre-contact and immediate post-contact Native American agriculture in Virginia. Most of my research will likely be drawn from archeological findings and the narratives/journals that have come down to us from early European settlers/observors.
