Salmon Cove is an American retailer, based out of Chicago, that focuses on bringing confidence-inspired, timeless clothing that would stand the test of time[1]. The company focuses on bringing a wide array of products for consumers ages 18 and up, providing both casual and professional wear[2].

History

Salmon Cove was launched in 2007 by designers Owen Schnaper and Charlie Roth[3], former financiers and graduates of New Trier High School and Northwestern University, with the hope of bringing a classical, preppy clothing brand to the Midwest[4]. The company offers myriad different products for both men and women, and prides itself on the innovation in the fit of their clothing, in particular the much more slim-fitting polos[5]. The selection of products ranges in both use and price, allowing for a greater demographic of consumers and the ability to fulfill their different apparel needs.

The company has grown and evolved but still maintains it's headquarters in the windy city of Chicago, IL, staying true to its Midwest mission and roots. Both the main office, as well [6]

Marketing and Advertising

The official logo of Salmon Cove is the salmon. All of the company's products come embroidered with the orange salmon: most are found on the front pockets but can also be found on the underside of both the women's and men's collars (a characteristic unique to Salmon Cove). The official slogan of the company is "Rise Against the Current", a call to not only the mascot's nature, but also the company's mission to provide classical, but innovated clothing and a new and fresh perspective. Salmon Cove promotes its brand image by appearing in numerous clothing catalogues and websites[7], as well as taking full advantage of social networking sites[8][9] and the strong young adult following that they've maintained. In addition, sponsorships with companies for different causes and others such as with the LPGA and Canadian Yachting Association have helped sustain that image and increased publicity.[10]

Public Relations

Salmon Cove has fully utilized new and bright employees to help with enthusiastically promoting the brand. Launch parties and events have helped the company network and make the brand appealing not only to the older, more conservative consumer, but also to the young professional. The company also currently has different college representatives that help with promoting the the brand within their respective college campus. As of 2011, Salmon Cove has PR College Representatives in many of the United States most prestigious universities such as: Wake Forest University[11], Vanderbilt University[12], and The University of Notre Dame[13].
