I am interested in writing articles. I am especially interested in expanding articles on art, fashion, and biographies of living persons. I am currently working on the article for Eastman Johnson.

Spell check edit

I spell check Wikipedia; somebody has to.

I work with many people who write poor English. Their spelling drives me insane. I can’t do anything about it so I come to Wikipedia where I can do something about atrocious spelling.

That I correct misspelling on Wikipedia does not mean that I wish people who can’t spell or even write in formal, Standard English would not write articles in the English Wikipedia. Many people who do not write well in English are contributing valuable articles which would not otherwise be added to the English Wikipedia.

Most of the articles that I copyedit have been written by someone whose primary language is not English, which, in turn, means that the author knows more languages than I do, as I cannot write well in any language other than English. I rather like copyediting articles about languages and places and other topics that I have never heard of, and I realize that just because no native English speaker is writing about a topic, does not mean that the topic is not worth writing about.

AWB edit

I use AutoWikiBrowser. It allows me to work much faster on cleanup than I would otherwise. I am careful and review every change it suggests before saving. If you see edits by me assisted with AWB that you are unhappy with, please leave a message on my talk page.
