Ikimaru

The name is derived from the sentence “Ikita mama taberu” which roughly translates to “Eat Alive” this refers to a Yokai described as an invisible creature that eats humans, this is often simplified to an invisible zombie or undead creature and was used to describe the process of rotting.

The creatures stomach was apparently so easily filled, that it took days for it to finish a human, they were also described as lazy and rarely chased after humans, mostly simply opting for corpses and the like. They are unwilling to consume burnt meat and love raw human flesh, this belief led to cauterizing of wounds caused from amputation instead of simply bandaging it.

There aren’t any available images that glow light on the Ikimaru, the best analogy would be the Limp Bizkit stand from Jojos Bizarre Adventure. https://jojowiki.com/File:Limp_Bizkit_Infobox_Manga.png
