As an entertainment promoter Taz Wube has over 10 years of lounge/nightclub and marketing experience. He was a successful member of the team, Influence Marketing, which conceptualized Love Nightclub and nurtured it into one of the premiere entertainment destinations on the East Coast[1][2]. He served as the Marketing and Promotions Director at Love Nightclub for 7 years. In addition to the phenomenal success of Love as a Washington DC staple, Taz's business IQ played a pivotal role in the opening and development of The Park at 14th (or simple known as The Park) Restaurant and Lounge[3].

From Dream to Love, the Marc and Taz Brand

edit

Taz Wube arrived to the Washington DC area in 1999 looking for a fresh start to put his marketing skill set into action. He began promotions at Republic Gardens with Saturday nights being the venue's most profitable; both in terms of attendance and bar sales. After growing his following, comprised of the Capitol's elite and most progressive young adults, Wube joined forces with the entertainment lifestyle mogul, Marc Barnes. The duo began hosting the high quality events at Republic Gardens, formerly located on the U St corridor. The powerful partnership allowed the entertainment world to be introduced to them on a first-name basis; Marc and Taz.

Garnering much success and national notoriety, Taz Wube transitioned into marketing director of Dream Nightclub in 2001. It was there that his knowledge took shape in a major way. Aligned with the company, Influence Marketing, Taz Wube became a crucial part of the relaunch and re-branding of Dream Nightclub. His team was able to revamp the DC nightlife scale without ever moving the venue geographically. Dream Nightclub became Love Nightclub and the re-structuring quickly caught on. The Marc and Taz brand was positioned to be the forerunner in East Coast nightlife entertainment.

With the re-opening of the largest club on the East Coast, Love Nightclub, Marc and Taz transcended into a new stratosphere of events planning and management. This 54,000 square foot venue is an experience on its own. Located on the renowned Okie St, Love Nightclub boasts 4 luxurious floors with various rooms for special guests to entertain, a 2nd floor performance stage, 4 decks, and a Penthouse suite for the most important of guests. In addition to the venue being a frequent stop for entertainers and athletes[4], Love Nightclub has played the backdrop to a myriad of sociopolitical events. Howard University, the Democratic National Convention, the Congressional Black Caucus, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. are among the elite institutions for which Marc and Taz have orchestrated events.

Marc and Taz have hosted the following entertainment and cultural elite: Sean "Diddy" Combs, Alicia Keys, T.I., Lebron James, Common, Kanye West, Jay-Z, film directors John Singleton and Spike Lee, President Bill Clinton and Former First Lady Hillary Clint, the NBA World Champions Los Angeles Lakers, and even newcomers Drake, Kid Cudi, and Keri Hilson. Taz, utilizing his connections abroad, has also hosted international events in his native Ethiopia, Dubai, Nigeria, and Kenya.

Shortly following the opening of their 2nd venue together The Park at 14th, in 2008, Marc and Taz parted ways amicably.
