Angela Ashford

Wait, I'm a bit confused here. Apparently the Novelization says that, but the end of Apocalypse shows Angela traveling with Alice, Jill, Carlos and L.J. after Alice escapes from Umbrella. So how could Alice have killed Angela? Dengarde ► Complaints 00:29, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Ken Foree Pic

Lindsey, now worries on the picture, I know that whole episode was off kilter, but I gave up trying to keep Kens wiki running....too many users here interfere with what Ken wanted displayed on his wiki.He provided much of the facts on the page and then this user AllHallowsWraith decided he preferred his own version over Kens, so I just gave up. No, it's DEAD-CENTRAL.COM, I was there before Uncle Creepy and Johnny Butane opened their site, we're actually good friends. Mine is a Romero Fansite, I have the largest group of cast interviews on the web, and a few I haven't posted yet because they're over 3 hour long phone interviews that I'd have to transcribe & am just too lazy to get to... In your edit summary, you wrote "if editor believes it to be notable enough for a "quotation section" (which isn't encyclopedic at all) please discuss on the talk page". Very little in the Sienna Guillory article strikes me as encyclopedic. There's a clear Wikipedia policy against Trivia sections. Looking at Wikipedia:Quotations, I see the preference is against stand-alone quotations, so you are perhaps right to delete the Quotations section, but the guidance also says "Quotations are a fundamental attribute of Wikipedia. Quotes provide a direct source of information or insight". I think the one in question is rather interesting. You took the same view of another, as you moved it elsewhere. regards, Xn4 04:15, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

I personally don't think that a quotation section is necissary especially when (if you count what the other editor added) the quotations are from sources already in the article and could be incorporated. If you want to put more effort and incorporate them into the article, then go ahead, but having a section about quotations, with only 2 in them, is unneccissary. If you feel so strongly about the quotations and want to add more, then add them to theWikiquote on Sienna Guillory. There are also plenty of quotations on the Sienna Guillory article, I don't think a lack of quotations here is the problem. Hi, Lindsey. Pax, what you say about providing context is correct, so let's leave it there. You'll see that I took back my comment about your contributions, as I'm not usually so bad-tempered and most of them are very good. As you've asked me to say more, it was mostly your spelling I had in mind (recieved... necissary, unneccissary above) which you probably don't need me to tell you about. There's also some material in that article (e.g. "during the ceremony Guillory had worn her grandmother's wedding gown") which to me is interesting, but it isn't really encyclopedic. regards, Xn4 04:43, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, I'll be the first to admit that my spelling isn't that wonderful, but its something easily fixed. Also, thank you for coming to me with the problem and not just turning this into some kind of edit war, which was not my intention at all. I'll try and fix the article over the span of the next few days. I think you might be interested in creating the Sienna Guillory article at Wikiquote since essentially, it would be a list of quotations surrounding Ms. Guillory. Future films

Hi, Lindsey. I wanted to inform you that the notability guidelines for films stipulates that a stand-alone article for a film should only be created when the film enters production. This is because due to the nature of the film industry, announced projects like April Fool's Day (2009 film) stall before entering production and wind up in development hell. I understand that, but you just disregarded what I was adding, and although you do do a great job of editing, I would hope that not all you see without citations would be deleted, it sucks looking up information, such as Dvd realease info and getting a little excerpt because someone else on Wiki couldn't look up the page and instead deletes it.--Gurrr 04:04, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
What I meant is I think Wikipedia would be better off with more information than less, and people who would like that, have nothing to show for it compared to the types of non shit givers on other articles, so there has got to be some level of tolerance. I will look for the citation and fix the problem, because that is the requirment of the site. I prefer the second image by Clare & Dave, because she's smiling, but either one will work. I like the [13] by Medialife, and the fan shot [14] by KellyAponte might work if we can crop and color out the fan/background (much like they did with the picture of Angelina Jolie in the infobox - although I'm sure I can make it a little neater and nicer looking). Brian Miller of Medialife replied and changed the license of the image. He also sent me an email stating the change in license and who to credit. So, I'm going to go ahead and crop/upload the image. My compliments, it looks quite good in the article, better than I thought it would. Got it! I put the full image in the Pearl Harbor section in the article (and added a bit to the other image description on Commons). Questions:

  • Do you think it should be cropped, to only show her face, or is the fact that she is being interviewed, presumably about her role in the movie, interesting?
  • It looks rather small compared to the other images in the article, though I put it in the default "thumb" size. Should it be bigger, or the other images smaller?
  • Do you think it is fair to say that she is in makeup as her character in the movie? (It doesn't look like her standard appearance, and she does look vaguely 1940-ish, but I haven't seen the film.)

:D Great! I just saw the addition to the article. Although I don't think the interviewer mic or the fact that she's being interviewed is an interesting addition, I think if it was cropped out it might look awkward - image size wise, and if it were to show only her face, I think it would look strange having her facing in a right direction (but I'm sure that could just be fixed by flipping the image). Your thoughts? And I don't believe she was in character, but many of the cast showed up in the whole Hawaiian themed clothes with the leis. The mention that the premiere was in Hawaii is probably enough. Alright then, as the official history says 2004, then we should. I was going by 2002, when they met as the technical time they had formed, but I'll go ahead and change that in the article and then cite that as well. I'm unsure on the matter, there isn't any definite criteria for when a band can be said to have formed. So both are probably correct. The reason i favoured the official date is that it can be cited and that might avoid the constant fiddling with it that has happened in the past. Another problem is the self-published source, i think it might be ok as a self-published source in an article about themselves, it does seem like a press release and may be 'unduly self-serving' but for this particular point i doubt it matters. --neonwhite user page talk 17:08, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
Despite sounding like a press release, and using a bit of favorable words towards the band, I also doubt it really matters. It's merely cited for the band's year of formation, so that shouldn't play too much into problems. Thats not true. Wikipedia is not a fansite, and does not list the most minor details of a person's life in their article. There is nothing notable about what you added, which from my memory was about his roommate being unhappy with laundry. Information such as that is trivia at best, which is discouraged under WP:Trivia. Tips for improvement

As you know, I have had a tumultuous time on this site, espicially in the last week. Though you likely never want to talk to me again, what are some tips for improvement on this community from you personally? Also, I want to apologize for all Asian-related edits and messages I have made to you in the past. I feel that what I did was wrong and very un called for. Are talking about WP:Space here? You're right that I haven't been editing much (or at all really) in that scope, mainly because I don't know much about the subject of the project. So, as far as being an admin in the future, I wouldn't think I would do a very good job - unless being an admin involves more maintaining rather than educated editing in the subject. By WP: space I meant pages beginning with "Wikipedia:" Admins often have an interest in some procedure (like speedy deletion, or image copyrights) and help with its maintenance. Rollback is a button in edit histories and diffs. Admins have access to it, and it's newly-offered to non-admins. It allows fast reverts of vandalism. (It's not supposed to be used for non-vandal reverts.) Check the link at the top of your watchlist. Gimmetrow 21:10, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Well, I hadn't really thought of ever becoming an admin, though it is a nice thought and a lot of responsibility. I know there's a lengthy process you'd have to go through, and I'd be afraid I couldn't pass. But I guess I would be interested in the future. About the rollback, I wasn't even aware there was one. I guess rollback is turning into a controversy. I just noticed you do a fair amount of vandal revert and could benefit from it. Regarding admin, yes, I doubt you could pass WP:RFA without a couple hundred edits in wikipedia space, but I think you would be a good admin, if you had the interest. It came up rather as a surprise, so procedure is still evolving. The poll on he topic was at 66% for, so a dev turned it on. A previous poll had also been at 66%, and closed as no consensus. There seems to be a dispute over what's different now. Also, some thought that to avoid bureaucracy, everyone should have access to it automatically when can edit semi-protected pages and move pages. When you uploaded the image, there was a drop down menu titled "license" and from there you could have selected with license you wanted to release the image under. Other wise, I would add something like {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to the page by clicking the edit and then putting somewhere in the space. -Lindsey8417 (talk) 06:15, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
