Born in Harlem, New York City, New York, Lewis grew up during the peak years of 1980's drug epidemic and realizing that his life would go in a downward direction. His grandmother Ida Tillman(Famous New York Barmaid)along with his mother, took him out of New York and enrolled him into Milton Hershey School. "That opportunity Gave me a chance to education and growth", he states after graduating. He later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where Lewis enrolled into Cheyney University in 1994.

He went on to do small roles in independent films and commercials, until he was bitten by the writing/directing bug. He formed in 1997 Onlyone Productions, a small production company geared towards short story films. It later evolved into Onlyone Studios along with [I-Films Limited][1].
