Emily Rinehardt is an American designer born in Columbus, Ohio on February 05, 1996. She attended Kent State University from 2014 - 2018 and graduated with a Bachelors degree of Arts in Fashion Design. In 2017, she participated in a Study Abroad Program in Florence Italy[1]. That same year, Rinehardt became a Fashion Design Intern at MALVAR = STEWART, where she practiced sustainable methods, while working with a zero-waste designer[2]. While working with the brand, she experimented with different surface methods and became especially interested in felting and natural dying. In 2018, Emily Rinehardt won the grand prize at the 14th annual Rock the Runway fashion show with her design of “Sailors Warning” inspired by Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean[3]. Later that year, Rinehardt became an assistant designer at La Senza, a retail company, where she helped design the launch of a swimwear line. Her time working with MALVAR = STEWART later inspired Rinehardt to want to create her own up-cycle apparel brand. In May of 2020, she co-founded Salvage Apparel Co. in Ohio with Megan Rogerson (co-founder)[4]. Rinehardt conceptualized the clothing line and directed photoshoots for the company.
