Leonid Korogodski was born in 1966, in Ukraine (then part of the Soviet Union). He received a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Upon graduation, he was invited as a visiting scientist to the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton for a one-year program in Mathematical Physics. Having left the academia for personal reasons, he has worked in the software industry since. At this time, he is a principal software engineer at CA, Inc. (formerly known as Computer Associates, Inc.), working in the area of access control and identity management. He is a single father, living in the Boston area. He is also a science fiction writer.
