Navapashanam (literally "Nine Poisonous substances) is the substance that was found in many idols of temples in Tamilnadu.One of the Famous idol was made by Bogar to create the Moolavar in Garbagriha of Dhandayudhapani Temple, Palani, Tamilnadu.

Pashanam means "Poisonous Substances". In Ancient Tamilakam, there are 64 known poisonous substances.In those, Neeli is a pashanam.It is the antidote for the other 63 poisonous substances.

Navapashanam is the 9 Pashanams that Siddhas built using found rule methods.

Nava (Nine) Pashanam edit

Navapashanam is a Pashanam that is created by Siddhas which has some physical and chemical properties.It is an example for Siddha's excellent Alchemy. Siddhas mixed the atoms of different pashanams to create Navapashanam.The 9 Poisonous substances are:

Each Pashanam has its own chemical property. To make these pashanams fluid and solid , nine types of firewood was used.And 9 filters were used.

Siddhas grind, boil, burn, and break apart into fine particles while making pashanams. The type of fire refers to the size of the fire made of dung and dried. The name will be mentioned according to the number of dryers. From one to a thousand driers are used per bushel. Quail 1; Partridges 3; Rooster 10; Pig 50; Weight 700; The bitter is 1000 and the type of pus with the dry count as mentioned.

Devipattinam, located 15 km away from Ramanathapuram is a Hindu pilgrimage area. Here, according to Legends, ,Rama, 7th Avatar of Vishnu built Navagraha Temple with Navapashanam
