I am Len Goforth. I live Springfield, OR. I was born Nov 3, 1950, which makes me 64 years old at this writing. I was brn in St. Louis, Mo.

I have a bachelors degree in electronics.

My hobby is music and the history of it. I've been studying since I was a teen. I have been in bands. I played the drums. Currently, my interest in music is

1. Enjoying it. 2. Learning it's history (from classical to present day pop) 3. Telling others about songs, with data on who wrote it, when it was written, and it's sales figures. I do this on Facebook. I have two music groups and I am a member of five other music groups.

My interest in music spans all genres. It is known that the largest genre in music is classical, and that genre enjoys the largest audience. But there is an even larger genre, if Music is a genre, because it encompasses all genres of music. I believe gthat to be true. Genres or subgenres are just names so that librarians can file music away. This need not be done. I can mix the genres and it sounds good to me. I find no need for genre when listening. I only use genre to find music. Another way to find music is by decade.

I enjoy nearly all music whether it's from a Broadway musical, a movie theme, popular music, ragtime, rock, rock 'n roll, jazz, swing, and every kind there is. I even like international music, including in languages that I don't understand. The human voice is an instrument. I don't understand 'trumpet'. I don't need to understand the human voice. All that's needed is the sound it makes when it sings.

Other interests include motion pictures, literature, and poetry. History is a major interest too.
