Carl Camras (1953-2009) was a world-renowned ophthalmologist, who revolutionized the treatment of glaucoma with the discovery of prostaglandins to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) in the eye. The son of the famous inventor, Marvin Camras, Carl always was predisposed to brilliance. A seemingly failed experiment during his undergraduate research at Yale University led Carl Camras to hypothesize the use of prostaglandins as an IOP lowering agent.
