Introduction
editWelcome to my user page! I'll bulk this out in time, but right now I can tell you I'm based in the UK and interested in the influence of Quangos, charities and Think Tanks in UK politics.
Why I joined Wikipedia
editDuring a political studies course at University, I was repeatedly told never to use Wikipedia for research. In a project researching the role of quangos, think tanks and charities in UK politics it quickly became evident why Wikipedia could not be a trusted source for this information. Often these pages are written by the organisation themselves, thus proving to be a one-sided overly-positive view of their impact, or they have been clearly edited by editors with a political motive to show a negative portrayal. I challenged myself to do something about this and get these pages up to an encyclopedic standard, and I hope others will join me.
Judge me on
editPlease judge me on the quality of my edits and not the quantity. Where I am editing political pages I will try to improve the neutrality of the article and use encyclopedic language. I'm happy to be corrected, and just ask that you engage with me on my talk page or an articles talk page. I am not paid to make any edits and have no agenda other than wanting to improve the quality of quango, charity and think tank pages, given many are currently in a very poor state.
