DJ Furax, whose real name is Alexandre Schippers was born on 10 November 1973 and is a Belgian producer and DJ. He got internationally famous thanks to some titles like for example Big Orgus. During his career he mixes beside some famous DJs like Yves Deruyter, David Guetta, Benny Benassi and Martin Solveigl. He has also been present in the biggest electronic music festivals like Mysterland, Bassleader, Qlimax and Defqon.11.


Schippers was born in a family seriously interested in music. At the age of 9 he was given a drum set, his first musical instrument. He played the drums for 10 years. At the age of 14 he discovered composition thanks to some old synthesizers. When he went out partying he was fascinated by the DJ. At the age of 15, he bought himself his first CD player and then other tools for the composition including synthesizers, rhythm boxes. When seeing Amnesia, Conffeti's and Lords of Acid life/ in concert, he got interested in the art of DJing. In 1993, Alexandre started to mix in some parties, more and more parties later. Giving an interview to the website Guido.be, he said/ declared: "Once, a friend of mine organized a party at Moulin de Solières (in the region of Huy) and he invited me to mix. It was DJ Furax's first show!" In 1997, he created a track called Big Orgus, that helped him get internationally famous. The track would achieve the 12th place in the Belgian chart in 2003 during 14 weeks. Since 2004, this track has been the official anthem of the Charleroi Sporting, a football team. What Alexandre describes as a "real pride".

In 2000 he opened his recording studio with some labels including BPM Records, A&F Records, Misoon Records, Aurora Records, BigBlackBad Bichon Records and Dynamite Records and also Furax Fire Force. In 2007 he became the first Belgian DJ living in Paris where he broadcasts hardstyle. The same year he was awarded the Diamond DJ by Guru Josh6 at the Bordeaux Festining.
