Swapo close school
editHaidhambo Primary School's closed to children of the Ohangwena Region by Swapo members due to the patron, Hidipo Hamutenya the president of the Rally for Democracy and Progress RDP.
Earier this year Mr. Hidipo Hamutenya were announced as the patron of the Haihambo Primary School in the Ohangwena Region, a nove that was not accepted by someSwapo members and their leaders in the consituency. Members of the ruling party had locked the gate of the school with six locks. Sources said the principal and teachers, who were supposed to start working yesterday, could not enter the school premises. The school was expected to reopen for the third term this morning, but Timotheus Shikongo the and otherSwapo members put up a tent in front of the school’s main gate to block anyone trying to enter. The Swapo member did not accepted that the president of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP), Hidipo Hamutenya were announced patron of the Haihambo Primary school, shortly after his generous donation of fencing material, a water tank and N$10 000 to the school. This angered Swapo leaders and some Swapo members in the Epembe Constituency and the demanded that the donations be refused. The school management ignored the request and that angered the parents. The school management was asked to confirm that they want Hamutenya to remain patron and whether they wanted to keep the donations he had made. [1] [2] [3] [4]
