[1]Calf Thymus DNA

Description

DNA is purified from calf thymus, the white fibrous precipitation is dissolved at 1 mg/ml to give a viscous solution, DNA is supplied in 10mM Tris-Hcl (pH 8.0) and 1mM EDTA.

Calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) is a natural DNA, widely used in studies of DNA binding anticancer agents and binding agents, that modulate DNA structure and function CT-DNA, is also used in physiochemical studies of DNA behavior in solution.

(CT-DNA) Solution

CT-DNA solution was developed for use in hybridization protocols, as a blocking aget to reduce the non-specific binding of a hybridization probe to the surface of the filter. It is not desinged to serve as DNA standard or referance solution, CT-DNA solution prepared from highly pure, phenol-chloroform extracted DNA, and DNase free, RNase free, (DEPC-Treated), distilled, deionize water. Once it may dissolved the DNA solilution is shared to an average size of < 2000 bp carried the DNA is typically used at concentration of 10 micro gram/ml in both the prehybridization and hybridization solution.

DNA is purified from calf thymus, the white fibrous precipitation is dissolved at 1 mg/ml to give a viscous solution, DNA is supplied in 10mM Tris-Hcl (pH 8.0) and 1mM EDTA.

Purity is of the order of the order 90% as determined by hydrolysis of DNA by perchloric acid which is measured by Spectrophotometrically at (A260) nm.

Storage

-20°C ± 2

Applications

It use as substrate for deoxyribonuclease, activated CT-DNA is suitable [S] for unit estimination of DNA polymerase.

Use of interaction of calf thymus dna with gefitinib to study spectroscopic method and molecular docking.
