The Volkswagen MV Taxi is a 5-door station wagon taxicab, which is based on Toyota JPN Taxi. MV Taxi shares many of its styling cues with JPN Taxi, although the internal combustion engines differ.

Production began on November 12, 2019, at Toyota Motor East Japan plant. The MV Taxi stands for Mobility Vehicle Taxi.

The only hybrid powertrain available is a combination of 1.4 L TSI turbocharged petrol/gasoline engine, and a 45 kW AC synchronous motor. No TDI diesel engines are being offered, as diesel cars became phased out in Europe due to its emissions.

The internal combustion engines are manufactured at Volkswagen production facilities in Germany (96%), with a small production being Mexican-sourced at Volkswagen plant in Puebla. The German- and Mexican-produced engines then shipped to Toyota plant in Shizuoka, Japan for final assembly.

The first city to get the MV Taxi is the German capital Berlin. Later on cities like Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam will also get the MV Taxi to replace their aging taxi fleet.
