Henryk Chroscicki born Henry Ross, also known as Enrico Chroscicki (Warsaw, March 31, 1919 - Paris, May 24, 2000 ), was a Polish film producer[1]

Biography

edit

He was born in Poland into a Jewish family. Due to the advent of Nazism, his father decides to move his family to Australia to avoid persecution. As WWII began, Henryk enlisted in the army. He was injured in a car accident which left him with a scar on the left side of his head. He has applied for the Australian government scholarship with the intent to enroll into the Institut des hautes études cinématographiques (Institute for Advanced Cinematographic Studies") in Paris. However, he was unable to do so and enrolled in his second choice school Centro sperimentale di cinematografia (Experimental Film Centre or Italian National film school) taking directing classes. During his time in the Experimental Film Center Henryk met a famous Italian film director and screenwriter Francesco Maselli[2].
