I created the Wikipedia page on Ralph Waldo Tyler. I am a professor of higher education with a background as a musician and an ethnomusicologist. I currently teach cultural diversity classes at York College and The Arts in New York class at Guttman College in the City University of New York college consortium. You can familiarize yourself with one of my ethnomusicology projects online at https://jazzindianaavenue.wordpress.com/introduction/.

I have a special interest in Ralph Waldo Tyler as a teacher and scholar who focuses on race and African American history. Also, Ralph Waldo Tyler was my great grandfather and I acknowledge him as a relatively presently under recognized African American activist for racial justice although Tyler was highly regarded and recognized during his lifetime in the early 20th century.

I added information to the wikipedia article on Emmett J. Scott to include Scott's role in selection Ralph W. Tyler as first African American war correspondent. I link this data to Scott's book entitled Scott's Official History of the American Negro in the World War.
