Wg Cdr KK Verma is a member of the HBR Advisory Council at Harvard Business Review. He has worked for twenty years in Indian Air Force (IAF) at various senior positions and traveled across India and the world. He has been successful in conceiving and implementing many futuristic projects based on innovative ideas in Air Force.


Qualifications and Experiences

He did engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication in 1985 from Birsa Institute of Technlogy (BIT). Just after completing his degree in 1985, he joined Indian Air Force in Bangalore as an officer. He completed his M Tech from Indian Institute of Technology IIT Bombay in Electrical Communication in 1994. He worked in IT Department of Air Force for long time and worked at many senior positions as faculty. He also worked In IETE, Institution for Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers and looked after its technical publications. He worked with Prof Jagadish Kumar, presently Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). He left IETE in 2010 due to poor health of his mother.

He has researched and developed a “Theory of Human Growth” based on unlearning. He is an author of 3 published books on unlearning.

1. His 1st book was published by Bibliophile South Asia, New Delhi in Jul 2007 titled “Unlearn Before U_learn”.

2. The next book titled “Unlearn Before U Learn for Global Networking” was published in Jan 2011 by Vats Publication, New Delhi.

3. His third & last book titled “Unlearning for Success” was published in 2014.


Awards and Recognition

1. In Indian Air Force, he was given Chief of Air Staff Commendations in 2001 for his exceptional work.

2. His book on unlearning titled "Unlearn Before U Learn for Global Network" published in January 2011 has been awarded FIRST PRIZE in Book Award 2011 by Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD), New Delhi.

3. He has bagged Excellence Award 2012 for the contribution in the field of learning by Knowledge Resource Development & Welfare Group (KRDWG), New Delhi.

4. He received Margdarshan Award 2013 from Knowledge Resource Development & Welfare Group (KRDWG), New Delhi for Innovative Institute of Unlearning founded in 2005.


He has presented the topic of Unlearning at National and International Conferences including one at IIT and JNU, New Delhi. He conducts workshop on “Innovative Thinking through Unlearning” for professionals at various places. He organized a series of Coffee Session on Unlearning at DMA in 2014. His research papers have been published in various publications. He conducts session on unlearning on regular basis.


He is an international level squash coach, mentor & sponsor. His trained woman is playing squash matches at International level tournaments. She has become 9th Woman to enter in top 100 as per Professional Squash Association (PSA) world ranking. She has become 3rd Woman Squash player of India. He himself plays squash and trains young boys and girls who wishes to play at national and international level.


He was born in a small village near Nalanda University, Bihar. From there, he did his M Tech from Mumbai and traveled across India before settling in Noida.


Present Activities

He is a life member of Computer Society of India (CSI), HRD Network and AIMA. He is a Fellow of Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE). He is a senior faculty of ISTD, New Delhi. He is running Innovative Institute of Unlearning (IIU), New Delhi and researching extensively on innovative ideas with the help of IT resources. He is a social activist and helping people achieve excellence. He is a philanthropist.
