He had entered in to the journalism field on 18th June, 1999 in the largest circulated Telugu Daily the Eenadu. He had worked for Eenadu as news Contributor (1999-2001), Crime Contributor (2001-02), as Sub-Editor (NMR Basis) from 2002-04. He did Journalism Diploma in 2004-05 from the EJS (Eenadu Journalism School), Ramoji Film City. He had given investigative reports on various subjects in government sectors.
He left Eenadu on 5th September, 2009 and joined in Sakshi Telugu Daily as Sr. Reporter and worked for 20 days. Later he joined in the ABN Andhrajyothy Telugu News Channel as Crime Bureau Chief. He is the first Crime Bureau Chief for ABN. He Joined in TV5 Telugu News on 23 Apr, 2010 as Incharge-Crime Bureau and worked for two years.

Kamalapathi did Computer Science vocational course in Intermediate from Government Junior College, BHEL, Ramachandrapuram. Later he finished B.Sc (Computers) from Rishi Degree College, Mehdipatnam (now it is located at Himayat Nagar). He has technical skills in web designing, programming.
