Cambridge Textbooks in Linguistics is a long-lasting series of textbooks on linguistics that are well suited to self-study. Characterized by their short titles... Case, Tense, Aspect, Logic in linguistics, Number etc. and their fire-red affordable paperbacks with thin stripes towards the bottom they stand out in the library shelves. One modern classic of this series is Aspect by Bernard Comrie, which had its first printing in 1977 and is still the first place to go to freshen up on the subject before hitting the curent crop of papers.
