Unbubble is a metasearch engine that is considered[by whom?] to be neutral. It was founded in Germany and can be used in eight different languages. It also provides measures to protect user data with the use of SSL.[1] This allows for the user's internet connection to be encrypted.[2] The engine also states that it is family-friendly and provides a "Safer Search" fitler that allows parents to set different levels of searching.[3] The search engine is run by Sasse, a software engineering company located in Hamburg.[4]

edit

Unbubble provides Bubble Tags. They are considered to be shortcuts that allow users to search specific sites easier like Wikipedia or YouTube.[5] They also allows for users to search in specific categories or sections to define their results. The categories are currently Web, Press, Images, Shopping, and Science. They are expecting to add more.[3]

Financing

edit

Unbubble is completely free to use, but runs on donations and two other options. One of those options is revenue from when users use the shopping section of Unbubble. They also receive funding from advertising their sponsoring partners.[4]

Energy Source

edit

Unbubble's web host is Hetzner Ag which provides a form of green energy for them to use.[6]
