KD8LDN JOHN FISHER Started my interest into Ham Radio 20+yrs ago, wasn't able to pass the code test at the time,met my wife instead. Figured I better spend time talking with her, I was right. Now ready to talk to others. :-)
Flash forward to early 2009 attended local SkyWarn group encouraging it's members to try Amateur Radio. Few months later with a road trip to the Mecca of Radio, my son Sean KD8LDM & I tested at Dayton 2009 and both passed our Tech license.
Planning for upgrade to General so I can really play with my FT-817ND. Been spending time on the local 2 meter nets. Plan to take it to the woods while camping with my Boy Scout Troop. Been trying out SSTV on 2 meter and love the mode. Interested in RTTY, Hell and other digital modes.
Anxious for spring to plant my first antenna farm. Get more involved with SkyWarn, continue supporting my local Cert Teams.
