This is an attempt to create a list/timeline of border changes post-WWII with some sort of categorisation.
Obviously, some of these are disputed, and the dates will vary depending on whose recognition you are going with.
There is a lot missing, particularly in the formation of post-colonial nations, which I will try to add in over time.

- 1967 Six-Day Arab–Israeli War
- Egypt loses Gaza and the Sinai Peninsula to Isreal
- Jordan loses the West Bank to Israel
- Syria loses the Golan Heights to Israel
- 1971 Reversion of Okinawa to Japan
- 1971 Bangladesh independence
- 1982 Israel withdraws from Sinai Peninsula and it reverts to Egypt
- 1992 Dissolution of Czechoslovakia
- 1993 Eritrean declaration of independence after a long war
- 1997 Hong Kong handover
- 1999 Macau handover
- 2005 Israel disengages from Gaza - it is neither independent nor occupied
