In February and March 2022, The Undertaker's first WWF opponent, Mario Mancini, expressed in interviews that he'd like to meet The Undertaker for the first time since their singles match on November 19, 1990. Mancini communicated his wishes to attend The Undertaker's 2022 Hall of Fame ceremony, but only if invited. Mancini expressed the desire to introduce himself and personally congratulate The Undertaker on his legendary career. He also revealed that at a March 2022 New York wrestling convention in which The Undertaker was in attendance signing autographs, he made several attempts to meet Calaway without paying the required $200 fee but was not allowed inside by convention staff members.[2] Marcini is quoted to stating as follows:

We waited again and the woman doesn’t tell Mark I’m there and just looks at Scott [Mancini’s promoter Scott Wilder] and I, and says, ‘I’m sorry, he’s just not gonna have the time.' I go, ‘What do I have to do, buy a $200 ticket to go see him?’ I’m not doing that.[2]
