Prose

In 2005, the United States Supreme Court issued its landmark ruling in Roper v. Simmons (543 U.S. 551). In a 5-4 decision, the Court concluded that the execution of juvenile offenders constitutes "cruel and unusual punishment" in violation of the Eighth Amendment and Fourteenth Amendment Amendments to the United States Constitution. As a result of this ruling, the death sentences of 71 juveniles offenders in the United States were invalidated. These 71 offenders were incarcerated on death rows in the following twelve states: Texas (29); Alabama (13); Mississippi (5); Arizona (4); Louisiana (4); North Carolina (4); Florida (3); South Carolina (3); Georgia (2); Pennsylvania (2); Nevada (1); and Virginia (1). The defendant himself in the Roper case, Christopher Simmons, was not under a sentence of death at the time of the ruling, as the Missouri Supreme Court had previously commuted his punishment to life in prison without parole.

Gamma Phi Gamma

I believe that it Would be appropriate to contact the fraternity and get accurate information on it's founding and what they stand for among other things so that there isn't a single page saying that one of their pledges lost a nut and that's all. Wikipedia only uses information that is confirmed by reliable published sources. It does not accept what organisations say about themselves. If an organisation is notable only for an incident that reflects badly on it, so be it. However the Gamma Phi Gamma article probably ought to be deleted anyway. Basically, the only information on the local fraternity chapter is obituaries noting things like 'graduated from Wilmington College, where he was a member of Gamma Phi Gamma' and the news articles covering the Pledge Loses Testicle In Frat Hazing Ritual At Wilmington College one event. The article started by Ktr101 likely will be deleted/redirected per WP:BLP1E. The current place for such information would be articles such as Wilmington College (Ohio) or Hazing in Greek letter organizations if it could be added in a way that maintains the context of the topic. -- Jreferee (talk) 14:34, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

I would say if their claim to be the oldest surviving is true, then it would count for notability, but verifying that claim could be difficult. And after a few minutes googling for them ("gamma phi gamma" "wilmington college" -testicle -hazing 1907), not much shows up.Naraht (talk) 19:15, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

If you can't find anything, the lists of winners are here: Academy Award for Best Actor and Academy Award for Best Actress. You could go to each film and tally up the directors. With 86 winners in each category, it shouldn't take more than an hour or so to tally up. (As an aside, it's interesting to see that the actors' page has images but the actresses' page has none.) Unfortunately the IMDB's publicly available raw data files include director data but not awards data. I downloaded the directors file and then went to the official Oscar database to obtain lists of all movies that won or were nominated for acting Oscars. Unfortunately I then had to do a lot of hand-work to make the titles from the two sources consistent—e.g. Wait Until Dark vs. Wait until Dark; Casablanca (1942) (first release) or (1943) (first Los Angeles release); Life is Beautiful vs. La vita è bella. After that it was a small matter of programming to tabulate the results.

Anyway, the result was that Wgolf was right: William Wyler is the right answer in both categories. The directors of the greatest number of Oscar-winning acting performances are:
