My real name is Jonathan Leighton. I'm an ethics strategist who trained as a research molecular biologist, and I run the think-and-do-tank Organisation for the Prevention of Intense Suffering (OPIS), dedicated to the prevention of intense suffering of all sentient beings through compassionate, evidence-based decision-making. I'm the author of The Tango of Ethics: Intuition, Rationality and the Prevention of Suffering (2023) and The Battle for Compassion: Ethics in an Apathetic Universe (2011). I hold a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Basel and an AB from Harvard University.
