John Thomas Kellas is a Masonic Expert and Historian currently residing in Germany. He has written books on Freemasonry and other subjects. He regularly lectures on Freemasonry in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, The Netherlands, Denmark and Belgium and is fluent in English, German and Dutch. Mr Kellas has been a Freemason for 30 years. He has been to Masonic lodges in the USA, Germany, Holland, Switzerland; Belgium, England, Australia, Cyprus, Scotland, Ireland and Austria. He has held the position of Grand Secretary in the German Constitution(GLBFG) for almost 5 years and has made official visits representing his Grand Lodge to Cyprus, England. Scotland, Ireland and the USA. He was a member of the Boards of General Purpose and Benevolence for over 10 years and it's Vice President for 5 years. Other posts he has held in Grand Lodge include Grand Historian, Grand Charity Steward, Senior Grand Deacon, Grand Pursuivant and Junior Grand Warden.

He is the author of Grand Lodge of British Freemasons in Germany-a History, published in 2000.

He was a founding member of Southern Star Lodge in Munich and he assisted in consecrating Royal Arch Chapter No.6 in Hamburg, Germany where he was Installing Third Principal.
