Yes, Joeydi2609 exists.

I am a retired professor of Physiology and Ophthalmology at NYU Medical center in New York. I ran an Ocular Transport Laboratory that studied transport of biological molecules into the eye and related tissues using radio-labeled molecules and mathematical modeling; in addition, I studied the isolated Retinal Pigmented Epithelium and introduced the first model of how various carrier molecules work together to maintain a voltage potential across this barrier tissue and provide a suitable environment for the retina to function (1981). I also taught various subjects including Membrane Physiology and Renal Physiology (with Dr Giebisch of Yale U. Med. School and contributing 4 chapters of the text for the NYU Med. School course).

Education: I have PhD. in Biomedical Engineering having completed requirements for the PhD. in Chemical Engineering with an additional 3 years at NYU Med. School and a Doctoral Thesis on Changes is Cerebral Blood-flow in Hydrocephalic Animal Models (Dept. of Neurology and Neurosurgery at NYU). I was the first student given this joint degree and was awarded the Founders Day award upon graduation.

I had a minor late-career of 3 years of teaching Science (Math, Chemistry, Biology and Physics) at various High Schools in New York City; this was only moderately successful as the bureaucracy was stronger than I was.

In retirement, I (along with my wife, Tamara) focused on building and expanding our garden on the west bank of the Hudson River, in West Camp, NY.- Riverhill Garden. I volunteer at Wave Hill Garden in New York City (13 years). I am interested in Horticulture with a special focus on Alpine plants and Cactus and Succulents.

I am 68 years old, born in Gravina, Italy. I am married (42 years) and have 2 children, Francesca and Alexander.
