Article review edit

I find a great interest in the neighborhood of Beacon Hill in Seattle since I grew up there. Even after moving, I've seen the area evolve rapidly with commercial businesses, a light rail station, and a food forest that was created to plant and grow edible plants. Despite of the change, the neighborhood continues to be predominately residential. Beacon Hill has also has many historic landmarks and attractions that add character to the area. I visited the Beacon Hill page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: the lack of facts not cited to a source, links that are dead, and lack of structure.

Citations edit

There are a few citations within this article but not many. The article contains only one general reference and some citations that are used throughout the article are not listed in the reference section. There are also some facts that are stated in the page but aren't cited to a source.

Links edit

The article does include some links to websites and pages that allow readers to navigate to information that is related to the article. However, a few links that are used in the article are dead links that lead to websites with no content or that have been removed. This could use some revision by updating the links to new websites with same information using a reliable source.

Structure edit

The structure of this article can use overall improvement. In the lead section of the article, it does summarize the important contents, however, it over-weighs the other sections with its lengthy introduction. The lead section also goes into depth about the neighborhood’s recognitions, events, and culture. This information could have been easily explained and gone into detail in a content of its own, however, the page does not include separate contents for these sections.

Conclusion edit

Ultimately, this article provides an overview of Beacon Hill. It includes important aspects of the neighborhood, such as commercial growth, transportation, historic landmarks, and recognitions. However, there are some facts that are not cited to sources. The few facts that are cited contain links that lead to pages with no content. This raises question of reliability of the information given by the article. Also, the article could use some organization. Added contents about the neighborhoods’ culture and recognition could be beneficial to the page instead of having all the information compile in the lead section.
