Starting from Lagar da Cabreira, an old community mill that is still operational, you can start by observing the “Tulhas”, that is, small buildings made of schist, a stone typical of this area, whose function was to store olives.

Follow a small path to the tar road and a few meters ahead you will join another trail that will take you to the village of Sandinha.

This path gives access to all banks of the Ceira River and its land, which, given its location, was very fertile.

After the town of Sandinha, one reaches a place where the river was diverted from its original bed, using a tunnel excavated in the rock. A house was built in this precise location.

Continue along the route, this path runs parallel to the Ceira River until you reach the beautiful village of Candosa, where you can observe its skillful constructions (corrals, haystacks, houses) and all the surrounding nature.

Take the opportunity to marvel at the mill, the olive oil press, ancient paths and stunning landscapes.

Retake the route, after passing the chapel, follow the road on the right that will take you along the river bank, opposite, towards Sandinha.

A little further on, you will find the watermill and the Piçarra bridge and continue along the banks of the river until you find Pocariças, an uninhabited village, however, it has a group of beautiful schist houses that are still well preserved.

The most difficult part of the route arrives where you have to overcome a large difference in level until you reach the village of Cadafaz.

This is very well preserved, enjoy its history and its simple monuments such as the Church, the Chapel of S.António or the Portos fountain.

Next to the cemetery, go down the road and you will find what remains of an old road delimited by walls.

As you continue towards the village of Cabreira, you will glimpse some houses along a river, occupied by foreign citizens who came looking for a healthier life, in full communion with nature.

You will begin to see the Castelejo, a building used by miners during the tungsten exploration period. In this place, you can also observe a few more little souls, in addition to the many others that appear along this route. Once you cross the old Cabreira bridge you will reach the starting point.
