We Can Edit

I work in administration at Milwaukee Area Technical College. Prior to joining MATC, I was a faculty member at Alverno College. I hold a Ph.D. in visual culture studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and I am a specialist in public art.

My Alverno media studies students contributed significantly to Wiki Makes Video, creating video illustrations to enhance existing articles dealing with topics in heritage, parks, music, machines, and architecture. My Alverno writing students collaborated to create an article about the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (see course page here).

In 2009-2010, my IUPUI museum studies students created articles about campus public artworks, including GPS coordinates, photographs, references, and a navigation template to index the sculptures. This work developed into WikiProject Public Art. Since moving back to Milwaukee in May 2010, I have coordinated the addition of dozens of articles and images documenting local public artworks. I even have awesome helpers--THANKS, User:Lonibug and User:gabrielleducharme!

I keep my drafts here: User:Jgmikulay/Drafts User:Jgmikulay/WSPA User:Jgmikulay/PA User:Jgmikulay/Conversion Protocol User:Jgmikulay/Collab User:Jgmikulay/Orgs User:Jgmikulay/T1.

It seems like an "awesomer" way to organize my drafts might be something like User:Jgmikulay/Under Construction.

I have a few academic "wiki friends": User:Citizn65, User:Marctasman, User:Christiancyoung and hopefully more to come!
