At the martyr's square, Said Hijal started the construction of the building that will be completed in 1952. The site on which it was established had become an entertainment center, where many cafes and movie theaters lie next to one another. This elegant building deployed a dramatic quality specific to the Art deco that is still in the United States considered as an essential refernce for architecture. It was demolished in 1992 by the government following a new urban planning strategy for the Martyr's square. It is still considered as a iconic building in Lebanon.
