I'm from Canada, and live in Japan. I'm a frequent wikipedia reader and sometimes contribute.

I advocate repeal of the wikipedia "noteworthy" guidelines, on the grounds that I keep finding topics I'm interested in learning about deleted by people that do not share an interest in said matters. 'Real' encyclopedias are obliged to establish noteworthy guidelines due to print space issues and the labor costs of writing entries. Wikipedia does not face these restrictions, and there is no reason it cannot provide information about any topic at all, provided someone wants to volunteer their time to write about it. I agree wholeheartedly with Tim Noah's Slate magazine article on the topic- http://www.slate.com/id/2160222/pagenum/1
