This is my notes. For article brainstorming and improving purpose.

AfC edit

Articles for Creation (AfC) is severely backlogged, why? Not sure, my guess is that a lot of reviewers are either on hiatus or retired. Sadly, it might take a while to cut it in half unless somebody can get at least 1000+ reviewers to review at 20 per day. New users tend to just create it from scratch instead of using AfC because of the approval timeline (subject might affect approval speed). Something have to be done or else the backlog will increase.

WikiProject Korea edit

Currently, it is semi-active because barely anybody communicates on it. Contributors seem to be doing things on their own instead of coordinating as a team. They could be working with friends or individual contributors that they are familiar with. Where's the love for Korea at? Most contributions is going towards K-pop and related subjects. Readers will only know one side and not the other. I want readers to see a unfamiliar name and say:

  • "Oh! Korean rock. Awesome."
  • "I never heard of this actress/actor before, maybe I should find a new person to admire."
  • "Gwanggaeto the Great is one of the two kings with the appellation the Great."

After learning something new, people tend to join a group to expand their knowledge and grow together. That's how I want WikiProjects to be so people can learn while enjoying themselves. Which is exactly why I'm fixing how things are displayed so visitors can find something to contribute to.

Members who are admins and reviewers is a must have for the WikiProject Korea. They know the in's and out's of the WikiProject. I remember long ago when a article was nominated for deletion and it seemed like majority wanted it deleted because it wasn't an American culture article. Some people quit Wikipedia because there are contributors who are just plain bullies. Even worse when it is an admin then it will ruin the whole experience for a new user. Everytime I see a new contributor in a Korea-related article, I usually welcome them and invite them to the WikiProject. There will be a time when you need somebody to guide you in the right way.
