This is an archive of Jawr256's Doctor Who quotes of the day. These are usually humorous quotes or bits of conversation from Doctor Who episodes that I own.

Week beginning July 17 edit

Saturday Listen

Doctor : Well, Mr Scarman, I really must congratulate you for inventing the radio telescope 40 years early.
Laurence Scarman : That, sir, is a Marconiscope. It's purpose is...
Doctor : ...is to receive radio emissions from the stars.
Laurence Scarman : How could you possibly know that?
Doctor : Well, you see, Mr Scarman, I have the advantage of being slightly ahead of you. Sometimes behind you, but usually ahead of you.
Laurence Scarman : I see.
Doctor : I'm sure you don't but it's very nice of you to try.

Friday

Stevens : Doctor, believe me, we wish you no harm.
Doctor : Don't worry, my dear fellow, I'm having a whale of a time.
Stevens : In the end, we all want the same thing: an ordered society, with everyone happy and well fed...
Doctor : ...Global Chemicals taking all the profits.
Stevens : What's best for Global Chemicals is best for the world, is best for you.
Doctor : Such as a little touch of brainwashing?
Stevens : Freedom from fear, freedom from pain...
Doctor : ...freedom from freedom.

Thursday

Arak : No more executions, torture, nothing.
Etta : It's all changed. We're free.
Arak : Are we?
Etta : Yes.
Arak : What are we going to do?"
Etta : [pause] Dunno.

Wednesday

Leela : These taxes, are they like sacrificial offerings to tribal gods?
Doctor : Well, roughly speaking, but paying tax is more painful.

Jamie : Come on, back to the TARDIS.
Zoe : Is that the right way?
Jamie : Of course it's the right way. No it could be... erm...
Zoe : We're lost, aren't we?
Jamie : No, I wouldn't say that. We're just er... well...um... [pause] You want to know something?
Zoe : What?
Jamie : I think we're lost.

Tuesday

Scarlioni : You're going to help me.
Doctor : I am?
Scarlioni : You are indeed. And if you do not, It'll be so much the worse for you, for this young lady, and for thousands of other people that I could mention if I happened to have the Paris telephone directory on my person.

Monday Listen

Glitz : Whereas yours is a simple case of sociopathy, Dibber, my malaise is much more complex. A deep-rooted maladjustment, my psychiatrist said, broucht on by an infantile inability to come to terms with the more pertinent, concrete aspects of life.
Dibber : That sounds more like an insult than a diagnosis, Mr Glitz.
Glitz : You're right there, my lad. Mind you, I had just tried to kill him.
