Local elections were held in Majayjay, Laguna on Monday, May 8, 1995 within the Philippine general election. The voters elected the elective local posts in the municipality: the mayor, vice mayor, and eight councilors.[1]

Background

Incumbent Mayor Ruben Guera is running for a second re-election (third term) under the banner of Lakas–CMD, his main opponent is incumbent Vice Mayor Froilan Gruezo, running under the banner LDP.

Incumbent Vice Mayor Froilan Gruezo, didn't run for re-election and instead he run for Mayor. His party nominated, Leon Sobreviñas, his main opponent is Dr. Noriza Ceria–Vito.

As the mayor, vice mayor and the members of the municipal council are elected on the same ballot, mayoral candidates may present or endorse a slate of candidates. These slates usually run with their respective mayoral and vice mayoral candidates along with the other members of their slate. A group of candidates independent of any mayoral or vice mayoral candidate may also form a slate consisting of themselves.
