Washinton Redskins vs. New York Giants

The Washington Redskins and the New York Giants combined for a total of 113 points in one game. The game took place on November 27, 1966, in New York. The Redskins outscored the Giants 72-41. The 113 points came from a total of sixteen touchdowns, ten of which were scored by Washington and six by New York, and a field goal by Washington’s kicker Charlie Gogolak. The game was played before the introduction of nets being t he goal post causing the Giants to lose a total of fourteen footballs to the stands. Thirteen of the footballs were lost due to extra points, and one was lost by Brig Owens who threw the ball into the crowd after he returned a fumble 62 yards for a score.[1]. [2]
