The purpose of this account is to add content to Wikipedia that is relevant and encyclopedic even though it may be considered silly or humorous. The fact is that some of the most often used terms and most commonly sung traditonal songs, for example, are crude, vulgur, or uttered in a joking manner. Such content has, in my estimation, been systematically underrepresented in Wikipedia given its frequency of use and notoriety in our culture. In working to see that this content is sufficiently represented in Wikipediaby: adding humorous but frequently used slang terms to disambiguation pages and pages discussing the more formal terms on which these terms are based (interestingly, though "slang" these terms are often more widely used than the non-slang terms on which they are based, such notoriety seems sufficient defense to the oft uttered catch-phrase "Wikipedia is not a slang dictionary); I will create redirects from slang terms to the proper terminology (which makes particulary sense because many people, particuarly young people, know the slang term but not the scientific term); I will create pages based on these "silly" items where doing so seems justified -- so far, most of my page-creation activity has focused on well-known humorous songs; finally, where humorous information is as notable as other information contained on a page, I will add this information (see my edit of Harvard Yard -- the fact that Harvard students traditionally pee on the foot of the John Harvard statue that is frequently rubbed by tourists for good luck is at least as notable as the fact that this is the statue of "three lies").

Feel free to post any questions or comments regarding my project on my talk page. Interestingstuffadder
