Africa Intelligence is a daily investigative website published in English and French. It aims at deciphering political and economical power in Africa.
Africa Intelligence is published by independent press group Indigo Publications.
The first trade newsletter launched by Indigo Publications is the Indian Ocean Newsletter, created by Maurice Botbol in 1981[1]. It is published in English and French.
In 1983, Africa Energy and Mining is launched with help from Antoine Glaser, journalist specialized in Western Africa.
In 1985, Antoine Glaser launches La Lettre du Continent, dedicated to French speaking Africa. It is only available in French. The English edition is only available later on, in 2010, under the name West Africa Newsletter.
In 1990, a newsletter in launched about North Africa: Maghreb Confidential.
In 1996, the Africa Intelligence website is born, gathering all African publications from the company[2].
In 2000, the company launches Africa Mining Intelligence, dedicated to the mining industry in Africa.
In 2013, Africa Intelligence stops being published on paper and its newsletters are only available through PDF and online.
On April 20 2020, Africa Intelligence became a daily publication This change saw a joining of the site’s five newsletters: West Africa Newsletter, The Indian Ocean Newsletter, Maghreb Confidential, Africa Energy Intelligence and Africa Mining Intelligence. At this occasion, it grows its editorial team, and its tagline becomes "The Continent's Daily".

Africa Intelligence chronicles the political, diplomatic and economic lives of the African states. It claims that it looks for the men and women working behind the scenes in these three fields
The editing company, Indigo Publications, is an independent press group whose sole source of revenu are subscriptions from its readers[3]. It claims that it brings full editorial independence.

Africa Intelligence covers the African continent with a regional view as well as a panafrican one. It focuses on 3 themes and 6 sectors
- Politics, Diplomacy, Business
- Energies, Mining, Commodity traders, Infrastructures, Finance, Defence.
Africa Intelligence also has specific pieces for its readers: In focus on Monday, Entourages on Friday, Palace intrigues on Tuesday and New Guard on Wednesday.
