The COVID-19 pandemic hit full effect in the United States in March 2020 (link to other covid article) resulting in lockdowns across the country. There were both health and economic consequences due to the pandemic. In the US, minority groups were disproportionately impacted by both consequences. The COVID-19 pandemic made racial and ethnic disparities in the United States apparent through the risks of COVID, economic and financial tolls, and racism faced in the midst of everything else. Within a year of the pandemic starting, COVID vaccines have been made and have begun to be distributed to the public. The vaccine rollout has also made racial disparities in the midst of COVID apparent.
