The International Education office in the Faculty of Education at York University (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) provides opportunities for learning in the field of education to students and faculty members. Opportunities include:
• International Practicum Placements (for Consecutive Education students)
Internships
Exchange Programs (including summer Exchanges to Germany)
Professional Development programs to York students and practicing teachers and administrators
Professional Development programs to international pre-service teachers, teachers and administrators
Faculty Exchanges

The International Education office is a part of the Research and Professional Development (RPD) department in the Faculty of Education. The goal of the office is to provide international learning opportunities for students, who will be future leaders in the field of education. Professional development programs with incoming groups include interaction with local students or educators in similar roles wherever possible, so that professional networks can develop between professionals.

Students at York University are able to apply for York International Mobility Award (YIMA) bursaries to help them offset expenses when they are participating in international learning opportunities that are offered through the university.

In order to further develop international relationships, all of the money that the Faculty of Education Student Association (FESA) raises each year is donated to a partner school in a rural area of Kenya. In return, two York students participate in an internship at the school for three months each summer. FESA also hosts an annual "International Education Mini-Conference" for Faculty of Education students, which provides a full day of workshops and presentations about international learning and employment opportunities in the teaching profession.

Likewise, the Faculty of Education holds a job fair each year, which is open to York University Faculty of Education students; both local school boards and international employers attend in order to hire students.
