Golden Crown Literary Awards are awarded by the U.S.-based Golden Crown Literary Society at their annual convention. The awards are given to published works which celebrate or explore lesbian themes. To qualify, ^{[citation needed]}. Categories include Contemporary Romance, Debut Novel, General Non-Fiction, General Fiction, and Science-Fiction/Fantasy. The Golden Crown Literary Society states that its mission is "to increase the visibility and quality of lesbian-themed literature".^[1] The awards were instituted in 2005.^{[citation needed]}
