Being Carly Gallo edit

"Making fools out of the best of us, making robots of the rest of us."[1] edit

I chose a very blunt username because I felt that no other name could communicate my identity or how I wish the world to see me. I know that it's somewhat taboo for wiki users to do such a thing- and I have yet to discover the repercussions of that- but I am not a fan of fabricating stories, so hopefully being Carly Gallo is somewhat acceptable in this community.

I am your typical idealist dreaming of making positive contributions to the world. I am in pursuit of discovering what it means to live a meaningful life, deciphering for myself what to believe as “truth”, and creating my own little footprint in this ever-evolving global community.

I am currently pursuing a B.A. in Social Work with a focus on child welfare. I find the fields of psychology, philosophy, and art endlessly fascinating and the moments of interconnection between them even more intriguing. I believe that creativity is rooted deeply in intelligence, and I love diving deep into the rabbit hole of wherever divergent thinking may lead me. So, naturally, I’m here working on Wikipedia articles- full of uniquely developed, highly opinionated original thoughts. Yeah, right.

But in all seriousness, Wikipedia provides both a unique opportunity, as well as a personal challenge, to add information on as many topics as possible in contribution to the education of the masses, making a wide variety of knowledge accessible to billions of people. Because of the macroscopic nature of this project, I am happy to be a part of a project with such a straight-forward, yet genuine intent to educate. I believe in random acts of kindness, and I believe any and every effort to improve Wikipedia as a resource, is just that.
